20130803_100848.jpgResearch Methodology workshop for Post graduate teachers was organized during 3rd to 5th August 2013in the Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune. This workshop was approved by Pune Regional Center, MUHS Nashik.

The workshop was inaugurated by of Dr. A.P. kulkarni (Ex Pro VC MUHS, Nashik) Dr. Sadanand Deshpande, Principal, Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, , Dr. Suvarna Joshi, Dr. Saroj Patil and Dr. Mihir Hajarnavis vice Principals of Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Dr. Mohan Joshi convener of workshop, Dr. Yogini Patil, Dr. Sangeeta Salvi, Dr. V. P. Joglekar and members of research project committee were present on the occasion.  Dr. Mohan Joshi welcomes all the guest and briefed theme of the workshop. The principal welcomed Dr. A. P. Kulkarni, Dr Suvarna Joshi and encouraged students for active participation.
        This three day workshop during 3rd to 5th August 2013, 9 AM to 5.00 PM was attended by the 40 Post graduate students in Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya. (List enclosed).  The workshop was conducted in P.G. hall No. 1, TAMV, Pune. Pre-  test on research methodology and statistics of participants were carried out at 9 o’clock  before  start of research workshop. The workshop began after the inauguration in PG Lecture hall No. 1 at 10.00 am with the Lecture by Dr A. P. Kulkarni on Introduction: Research with emphasis on Ayurveda, Second Lecture by Dr Suvarna Joshi on Study Designs-1: Introduction & Descriptive study Designs. Then Dr A. P. Kulkarni explained Case Control  Study Designs and Dr Suvarna Joshi explained Experimental study Designs.
            In post lunch session, one group activity was conducted by Dr. A. P. kulkarni and other P.G. teachers. Group Participants were divided in 5 groups. The groups were named Prithvi, Apa, Teja, Vayu and Akash. They were asked to discuss among themselves and come out with at-least 2 research questions and related hypothesis, Indicate why the topic was selected by the group over other topic, Indicate the type of study with reasons thereof and Indicate dependent and independent variables included in the study. The broad areas were Anemia, Diabetes, Obesity, etc. in Ayurvedic terminology. The Participants and Faculties actively participated in the activity. Then Dr. A. P. Kulkarni had taken lecture on types of data and data presentation followed by lecture of Dr. Suvarna Joshi on literature search. The Lecture ended with added recourses for literature search by Dr. V P Joglekar, Dr. Mohan Joshi. Lectures were stretched up to 5: 45 pm.  The Day was Coordinated by Dr. Saroj Patil and Dr. Yogini Patil.
            Second day started with the group activity on search for references related to topic finalized and discussed in group activity 1. On line search on pubmed, dharaonline, etc were carried out by the students. Then there was lecture of Dr. D. R. Basannar on Sampling: Methods & Sample size, and one group activity on calculating the sample size required for study. Dr. Nirmala Rege had taken lecture on inferential statistics.
Post lunch session began with group activity on inferential statistics conducted by Dr. Nirmala Rege followed by the lecture of Dr. D. R. Basannar on Questionnaire designing. Day was concluded with lecture on writing a research protocol by Dr. Nirmala Rege. She also included detailed information on Dissertation writing as the 38 students in group will submit their dissertation in coming December. The Day was Coordinated by Dr. Mihir Hajarnavis and Dr. Vishnu Joglekar.
            Third day started with lectures of Dr. Seema Patrikar on Ethical issues in medical research and evaluation of diagnostic test. Dr. Prasad Pore had taken lecture on Critical evaluation of Journal Articles. Two Journal articles in Ayurveic Peer reviewed Journal “AYU” were selected. These articles were distributed in Groups.
Post lunch session began with group activity on critical evaluation of two  Journal Articles conducted by Dr. Prasad Pore. Next lecture was also conducted by  Dr. Prasad Pore on qualitative research methods. Day was concluded with last lecture on Computer assistance in data analysis excel and Epi table by Dr. Seema Patrikar. Then post test were carried out in 15 min. After submission of the programme evaluation feedback forms, the verbal comments and feedback regarding the workshop was taken by the Research project committee members. The Day was Coordinated by Dr. Sangeeta Salvi.

The certificates and the CD of the workshop was distributed in valedictory function on 6th August 2013. The President of Rashtriya Shikshan Mandal, Dr. V. V. Doiphode, Treasurer Dr. R. N. Gangal and Members of Governing Council, RSM were present for the Validictory Function. The Best interactive Student in The Workshop Miss Pooja Pawar was awarded with A Gift of Book on Research Methodology. The Teja Group (8 Students) were awarded with Gifts as most interactive group. 100 % attendance of all the participants was observed. All the groups interactively participated in workshop. Dr. Sadanand V. Deshpande worked as organizing secretary and Dr. Mohan Joshi was Convener for the workshop. Vice principals Dr. Saroj Patil and Dr. Mihir Hajarnavis, and research committee members Dr. Vishnu Joglekar, Dr. Sunil Pandhare, Dr. Sangeeta Salvi, dr. Sujata KAdam, Dr. Apurva Sangoram, Dr. Yogini Patil, Dr. Vinaya Dixit, Dr. Minakshi Randive, Dr. Manjiri Deshpande contributed in organization of the workshop.
